Dr. Jacobsen

Dr. Alaina Jacobsen graduated with honors from Pacific University College of Optometry. Throughout her clinical experience, she has served patients of all ages and walks of life, from children’s first eye exams to managing cataracts and low vision in elderly populations. This variety of experiences granted her the opportunity to work with a wide range of optometrists and ophthalmologists, which has led to a dedication to the importance of collaboration between colleagues to create the best possible patient experience.

Following graduation, Dr. Jacobsen pursued a residency specializing in ocular disease at the Mann-Grandstaff Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. During that time, she gained valuable experience with ocular diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, and more. She worked with patients to manage their ocular health in conjunction with their systemic health and became passionate about improving the whole wellbeing of her patients.

Dr. Jacobsen brings a compassionate and dedicated approach to patient care and emphasizes thoroughness and patient education. She strongly believes that teaching patients about their eye care will result in overall improved health.  In her free time, Alaina enjoys exploring the local food scene, baking, traveling, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
